CivilFEM ACT Check & Design
FAQ

Q: When trying to remove the extension, an error is thrown.

A: To remove the extension it’s necessary that there is no open model that is using it. If it’s being used, the application files cannot be deleted. See “How_to_update_remove_CivilFEM APPs for ANSYS Workbench.pdf” document for more information.

Q: When trying to uninstall the extension, an error is thrown, and the extension cannot be removed.

A: With Workbench closed, you can navigate to the directory where the extensions are installed and manually remove the files: C:\Users\YOUR_WINDOWS_USER_NAME\AppData\Roaming\Ansys\v241\ACT\

Q: I am unable to remove a CivilFEM toolbox in the project layout in Workbench or Mechanical Tree.

A: To remove a CivilFEM toolbox in a project, the extension must be enabled in the Extension Manager. If it’s not enabled, the removal could fail leaving the box in a corrupted state.

It’s advisable to have a backup copy of the model, both before including CivilFEM toolboxes and when proceeding with their use.
