Sub-elements can be created in order to modify properties of a set of finite elements that belongs to a structural element.

 

Once you add a sub-element in a structural element, the user can assign a selection of mesh elements to this sub-elements. Then properties like material or reinforcement definition (for concrete shells) can be edited just for the selection of mesh elements
