CFVR1102 - EA (MV-103) check: eccentric compression according to EA.

Eccentric compression checking according to EA (MV-103) for a pinned-pinned beam.

A pinned-pinned steel beam is subjected to a compression force of 80 Mp and to a Mz bending moment of 80*60E-3 Mp*m.
The beam has a length of 4 m. The cross section is a T section with the following dimensions:

  • A = 5.587E-3 m2.
  • Wy = 106.667E-6 m3.
  • Wz = 171.01E-6 m3.
  • Wpy = 156.667E-6 m3.
  • Wpz = 298.35E-6 m3.
The beam is made of A42 steel.
The aim of the example is to obtain the compression criterion according to EA (MV-103).
