CFVR8721 - AISC-LRFD 14: Flexure Checking of a C Section, Strong Axis

Flexure checking according to AISC-LRFD 14 of an C-shape section in the strong axis with a laterally unbraced length of 2.5 ft.

A steel beam is subjected to auniform load of 1.2 kip/ft.
The beam has a length of 35 ft. and a laterally unbraced length of 2.5 ft.
Section material properties: A529Gr50 , Fy = 50 ksi, Fu = 65 ksi
Geometric properties: C 15x40, Zx = 57.5 in.^3 The aim of the example is to obtain the flexure criterion according to AISC-LRFD 14.
