Defines a solid section

PREP7: Solid Sections

ISLD

Number of the solid section.

UMBP

Number of member properties.

KCN

Number of ANSYS coordinate system which will be the section coordinate system. By default, the active coordinate system.

Name

Name of solid section (32 characters maximum).

Notes

- This command allows to associate cross section to a 2D or 3D finite element model.

- The plane of nodes which defines the model cutting must be defined. These nodes will be converted into section points and the elements into tessellas. Creating the solid section will automatically create the cutting resultant cross section with the same number as the solid section. The cross section stay linked to the finite element model by its points and tessellas. For more information see CivilFEM Theory Manual.

- The ANSYS coordinate system indicated using this command will be the section coordinate system. In addition the plane of nodes must be contained on the YZ plane of the indicated system and must be Cartesian.
