Defines a beam and shell property set

PREP7: Beam & Shell Prop.

NSET

Set identification number (arbitrary).

PrLab

Identifying label of the property to define:

BEAM

Beam property.

SHELL

Shell property.

USECI

Number of I section.

USECJ

Number of J section (by default USECJ = USECI).

USECK

Number of K section (by default USECK = USECI).

USECL

Number of L section (by default USECL = USECI).

ENAME

Element type for which real constants are defined in ANSYS.

UMBP

Number of member property.

KEYOFF

Cross section offset. Valid values are:

BEAM

0

Nodes in centre of gravity. Default value.

Nodes in the origin of the coordinate system.

Position of nodes defined by the user.

 

3

Nodes at shear center.

SHELL

0

Position of nodes defined by the user. Default value.

Nodes in the top.

Nodes in the bottom.

EFS

Elastic Foundation Stiffness or Ballast module (only valid for SHELL63).

Name

Set identification name (32 characters maximum).

Notes

- USECK and USECL fields are only valid for the definition of shell properties (PrLab= SHELL). In case of definition of beam properties (PrLab= BEAM) these fields are ignored.

- KEYOFF field is valid for all beam elements and for shell181 or shell281 elements.
