Organizes and creates the user section library

PREP7: Cross sections

Lab

Label identifying the action to be performed:

WRITE

Write a cross section in the user library

READ

Read a cross section from the user library

DEL

Delete a cross section from the user library

LIST

Lists a cross section from the user library

Fname

File name.

ICS1

Initial section.

ICS2

Final section. By default, it is equal to ICS1.

ICSINC

Cross section number increment. By default equal to 1.

IDX

Indicates the number of the cross section from which the ANSYS cross sections start to be numbered. Therefore, label IDX will only be used if Lab=READ. By default, the value of IDX will be equal to the cross section of largest number plus 1.

Notes

- Operations specified in Lab, are performed over the file indicated in Fname. Such file will have a maximum of 32 characters and by default will have the same name as the Jobname. The extension of this file will always be *.UCS and it will be saved in the directory:

%APPDATA%\CivilFEM\CSLib\

- Properties of the cross section in Fname are read and listed in the active code and units system. A maximum number of 100 cross sections can be saved in a particular file. It must be noticed that certain properties of the section depend on the type and properties of the materials which constitute them. Therefore, materials which form the section in the new data base would need to be of the same type than the original ones. The consistency of the data base can be checked using the command ~VERIF. In any case, the materials associated to the section can be redefined once the section library has been read. With regards to the mechanical properties, command ~UPDATE should be executed to update the new materials associated to the cross section. Also, the moment-curvature diagram should be updated if the real diagram of the section is being used. If any file cross section is deleted, the remaining cross sections are renumbered, in such way that numbers will be numbered consecutively, that is, with no empty spaces between them.
