Notes
- In all cases, the top face has been considered horizontal. It’s possible inclination, if it exists, will be defined as a bank.
- In the case of a polygonal asymmetric cross section with two corners, an arbitrary axis of reference is necessary for right and left measurements. In the intersection of this axis with the top face, the cross section coordinate axis will be placed. The axis will need to be placed so that it cuts the top and bottom bases, and marked distances are taken as positive.
- Each section will have associated an axis coordinate system Oxy, with the centre located in the middle of its top face with the Ox axis being parallel when the section is symmetric and located at the point of intersection of the axis with the top face when the section is not symmetric.
