Designs structural steel cross sections

POST1: Steel Checking

Lab1

Label identifying the type of checking.

ChckAxis

Element axes (ANSYS or CivilFEM axes system) which will be taken as “principal bending axis” or “Y axis” of Eurocode3 (only for Eurocode 3).

ClassMod

Defines the set of acting forces and moments that will be taken into account in the calculation of the section’s class (only in Eurocode 3).

Value1

Options to be defined depending on the code.

 

This command depends on active code. See ~CHKSTL command for all different values of Lab1, ChkAxis, ClassMod and Value1 arguments.

Notes:

- Calculation results are stored in the CivilFEM results file as an alternative. The available results for cross sections are the following:

 

DS_VAL

Design value, number of positions in rolled shapes library moved forward or backward to obtain the design.

DS_OK

Designed and not designed elements.

DSG_CRT

Total design criterion.

- All calculation is made according to the established in the active code (see ~CODESEL command).

- Design is made for the ends (cross sections) of the selected elements.

Menu Paths

Main Menu > Civil Postprocessor > Code Checking> ######> Design by code

Where ###### represents the active code (structural steel).
