~SEEPMOD, Lab1, ITEM1, Lab2, ESIZE, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7, L8, L9, L10

Generates the finite element model from a line set

PREP7: GEOTECHNICAL MODULE: Seepage

SOLUTION : GEOTECHNICAL MODULE: Seepage

Depending on the operation type to be executed, this command may assume the different forms that are stated below.

~SEEPMOD, ADD, ITEM1, Lab2, ESIZE, L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7, L8, L9, L10

Lab1

Description

ADD

Generates an area.

ITEM1

Number of CivilFEM’s material that will be used to mesh the area.

Lab2

Indicates whether or not there is an inclusion of the saturation line in the area to be meshed.

Lab2

Description

WT

Includes the saturation line in the area to be meshed.

0

Does not include the saturation line in the area to be meshed.

ESIZE

Specifies the size of the elements to be generated.

L1, L2, L3, L4, L5, L6, L7, L8, L9, L10

Lines that make up the area. If L1=ALL, all the selected lines are included.

~SEEPMOD, DEL, ITEM1

Lab1

Description

DEL

Deletes the area specified in the ITEM1 field.

ITEM1

Number of the area to be deleted.

~SEEPMOD, CLEAR

Lab1

Description

CLEAR

Deletes all the areas. The remaining command fields are left blank.

Notes

- This command generates an area and the meshing with PLANE42 elements. The area is created either by the selected lines (L1 = ALL) or by the lines indicated in the commands fields. It is possible to include those lines belonging to the saturation line automatically.

- The element type needed for meshing (PLANE42) will be created automatically when activating the Seepage Module (use ~SEEPAGE command).

- The finite element model must be defined using this command to be able to carry out the saturation line calculation with the command ~WTSOLVE. Any part of the model that has been not meshed using this command will not be taken into account by the calculation routine and it could cause problems if these areas are in contact with those meshed using this command.

- When areas are deleted, the finite element model associated with them is simultaneously deleted.
