Imports a cross section defined in ANSYS by means of nodes and elements

PREP7: Cross Sections

ICSEC

Number of section to import.

KCN

Number of ANSYS coordinate system which will be section’s coordinate system). By default, the active coordinate system.

Notes

- This command allows to define CivilFEM cross sections from an ANSYS 2D model using nodes and MESH200 elements. ANSYS nodes and elements are transformed into points and tessellas of the CivilFEM section.

- To create point tessellas it should be modelled in ANSYS using MASS21 elements. For linear tessellas the two end thickness should be specified in the first two positions of the associated real constant set. For point tessellas the tessella area should be indicated at the first position of the real constant set associated.

- The tessella material will be the same as the element material of the ANSYS model.

- The section coordinate system will be the ANSYS coordinate system defined in this command. It should be taken into account that the nodes and elements must be contained on the YZ plane (X axis normal to the section).
